THE GRAVITY JOURNEY

In 2014 friends Simon Whicker, Harvey Jenkinson (CEO) & Michael Harrison (COO) opened their first Gravitytrampoline park in Yorkshire. They shared a vision of providing safe and exciting family fun on a mass scale.

In 2016, and with four sites now across the UK, Gravity was backed by Guinness Asset Management which allowed further growth, not only of the parks, but also of the products being offered. Harvey and Michael had realised that the trampoline park offering was becoming a much more competitive space so, in 2017, they diversified the products on offer to include soft play and climbing walls which went into the next three sites that were opened.

The business continued to grow successfully and quickly, establishing itself as a leading premium active entertainment experience. In 2018 there were now 10 sites operating across the UK, from Glasgow to Maidstone, with a total of 302 full and part-time staff employed.

2018 was also the year that the Gravity business decided to expand through franchising and a 15-unit master franchise deal was signed in Saudi Arabia, with the first site opening in Khobar.

“We joined Gravity because our interests and incentives are fully aligned,” explains Saudi franchise partner Nasar. “We liked the Gravity team because they know, and love, what they’re doing. They are very hands-on, share their practical experience and are on top of the business with direct communication at all levels.”

In 2019, Gravity was listed in the Sunday Timees Fast Track 100 (UK’s fastest growing companies), which was a fantastic achievement and great recognition for the business. There were now 11 UK sites, 1 international, 367 staff employed, 10 products in the portfolio offering and three further franchise sites getting ready to open.

2020 saw the opening of franchises Warrington and Stevenage and Gravity became an accredited member of the British Franchise Association.

During this year and despite disruptions, site closures and product restrictions, the business still engaged with over 65,000 customers per month, with many sites outperforming pre-COVID-19 results.

As well as having a strong pipeline, the business continues to grow in 2021, with a new site opening in the UK, another in Leipzig, Germany, a second site opening in Saudi Arabia and a flagship Gravity opening in Wandsworth, South West London.

From a single product offering in 2014, Gravity now has over 30 different products to suit the size of unit, local demographic and market requirements of each site. From the original trampolines to multi-level electric go-karting, (which can be found in Leipzig and Wandsworth), bowling alleys, crazy golf and VR - there really is something for everyone.
